One of my favorite things about being a wedding filmmaker is experiencing different cultures from all around the world and how they come together and celebrate two people falling in love and starting their forever together. And there is nothing like an Indian wedding, especially when it involves closing down Broad Street in Philadelphia to give way for the groom’s procession during the Baraat. But let’s start at the beginning…
We first met up with Manisha and Kunal the night before their wedding at their Sangeet which took place at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia.
That was just the beginning of this dazzling multi-day celebration. The next morning, we headed over to the Crystal Tea Room, located just steps away from Philadelphia City Hall in the historic Wanamaker building in Center City.
Manisha was absolutely stunning. The two put their final touches together, getting ready for their first look.
Then it was time for the Baraat. Now, I have done a several Indian weddings before and I just love how each Baraat has a unique flare that syncs perfectly for each individual couple. But this one was next level.
Broad and Market streets shut down as the Kunal made his procession to the Crystal Tea Room. Colored smoke filled the streets and anyone who was in the area within a three-block radius joined in the celebration.
The evening was spectacular. So much energy, so much love, so much fun. Completely in love with everything that was this wedding day. Congratulations Manisha & Kunal
