PRODUCTION PACK
LATE RETURN POLICY
Effective Date: June 29, 2026
Tracking Rules & Return Timeline
Your Production Pack must be scanned into the custody of the United States Postal Service (USPS) by 11:59 PM local time on your designated return date.
Our studio relies strictly on the official carrier tracking scan to verify your return time, not the time of physical drop-off or collection box placement. Please utilize the prepaid return shipping label included inside your gear packaging, affixing it securely to the outside of the main shipping box on your return day.
Best Practices for USPS Drop-Off
Your prepaid return label is valid at any official USPS branch or secure collection box. To fully protect yourself against carrier processing delays, we highly recommend dropping the package off inside a manned post office location and requesting a physical drop-off receipt. This receipt serves as your definitive proof of scan time should a tracking error occur.
The Overdue Fee Schedule
Cosmo Losco Films provides a one-day courtesy grace period. If your package receives its first official USPS tracking scan by 11:59 PM on the calendar day immediately following your scheduled return date, no late penalties will be applied.
If that grace period lapses without an official carrier tracking scan, penalties accumulate daily at $50 per day:
Total Cumulative Fees
Scheduled Return Date: $0
Day 1 (Grace Period): $0
Day 2: $50
Day 3: $100
Day 4: $150
Day 5: $200
Day 6: $250
Day 7: Production Pack deemed abandoned. Full retail gear replacement cost authorized.
Reminder: The optional $50 Equipment Protection Plan (Damage Waiver) applies strictly to hardware damage and loss. It does not mitigate, reduce, or cover overdue equipment penalties.
Our Studio Communications Protocol
To keep your production tracking smoothly, our team will execute the following automated and personal check-ins:
-
Return Date: A courtesy email reminder outlining return instructions.
-
Day 1 (Grace Period): A status update indicating your carrier scan has not yet registered.
-
Day 2 (Overdue): A formal late notice containing an itemized, running total of penalties.
-
Day 4 (Overdue): Direct outreach via a phone call from our studio team to resolve the delay.
-
Day 7 (Abandonment): A final written notice issued 48 hours prior to processing the full retail equipment replacement charge.
Impact on Subsequent Productions & Advance Notice
Our Production Packs are on tight, consecutive film schedules.
-
When a late return blocks another customer: If an overdue return directly prevents us from fulfilling an on-time delivery to the next client, Losco Companies LLC may be forced to source substitute equipment from an outside vendor. The documented, real-world cost of procuring that emergency replacement gear will be billed directly to your account in addition to the standard daily late fees listed above.
-
Advance Notification Courtesy: If you anticipate a delay and notify our studio team at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled return date, we may, at our creative director's discretion, waive the initial Day 2 base fee ($25). Subsequent overdue days will still accumulate at standard rates.
